About Us
MatchPoint International was established in 2008 and is headquartered in San Diego, CA. Our
sports training programs are designed to provide instruction and equipment to PE, recreation, and
therapeutic staff around the world so that they may deliver fun, healthy, innovative programs to
those they serve.
Our model is to train and equip existing PE instructors, who in turn provide our programs directly to
their constituents. Our program provides instruction and equipment to PE, recreation, and
therapeutic staff who work with people from: special education/special needs communities,
economically disadvantaged communities, at-risk communities as well as the general population. By
doing this we are most cost-effective and efficient because we are fully utilizing and cooperating
with existing staff in programs and schools both locally and throughout the world.
WHO WE ARE
Lee Julia Whitwell
Executive Director / Trainer
Lee is certified USPTR teaching professional (Pro), 2 time NCAA Women’s Doubles Champion and
former Women's Doubles Professional Tennis Player. Currently she competes in beach tennis and
is the reigning United States women's doubles champion. She has taught all ages and abilities, both
nationally and internationally, as well as coached men’s and women’s college teams. Her specialties
include doubles strategy and tactics; on and off-court conditioning and footwork; and competitive
match play mental toughness.
